Shirodhara is one of the best ancient natural healing Ayurvedic treatments. It helps to purify and unwind the nervous system. In Sanskrit, the term shirodhara is derived from “Shiro” meaning head, and “dhara” meaning stream of medicated oil on the forehead.

The Shirodhara treatment is directly connected with the third eye and crown chakras so it is important to learn the whole system before receiving/providing services. The Shirodhara treatment increases the secretion of melatonin and serotonin. Melatonin controls sleeping patterns and serotonin is needed for cultivating a blissful, balanced, and calm mind. Generally, this treatment is indicated for illnesses caused by disorders of the Doshas, such as chronic cold, sinusitis, headache, stress, anxiety, depression, etc.
